Digital Healthcare, Telemedicine and Medical Training: New Uzbekistan–Russia Agreements

Uzbekistan and Russia have agreed to expand cooperation in healthcare, placing a strong emphasis on digital medicine, telemedicine, and the training of highly qualified medical professionals. The agreements reached are expected to support the modernization of Uzbekistan's healthcare system.
During a working visit to Russia, the Uzbek delegation held a series of high-level meetings with government officials, ministries, and federal agencies. The delegation was led by Tamila Aliyeva, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan, and Minister of Health Eldor Adilov.
The parties discussed cooperation in healthcare digitalization, telemedicine, remote patient monitoring, and advanced training opportunities for Uzbek medical professionals at Russia's leading medical, scientific, and educational institutions.
Special attention was given to cooperation in oncology, radiology, nuclear medicine, hematology, emergency care, rehabilitation, and palliative medicine. The agenda also included blood services, transplantation, biosafety, and digital management of donor programs.
The Uzbek delegation visited the Federal Mandatory Medical Insurance Fund, the Federal Disaster Medicine Center, and several leading specialized medical and research institutions. Meetings were also held with the leadership of the Federal Medical-Biological Agency and Rospotrebnadzor to discuss sanitary and epidemiological surveillance, molecular diagnostics, genomic analysis, and infectious disease prevention.
At the conclusion of the visit, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening practical cooperation. The agreements are expected to promote knowledge exchange, accelerate the adoption of advanced medical technologies, and improve the quality of healthcare services in both countries.
