Uzbekistan Establishes the Title "Honored Entrepreneur"

Uzbekistan has introduced a new honorary title, "Honored Entrepreneur of the Republic of Uzbekistan," aimed at recognizing business leaders who have significantly contributed to the country's economic development.
The law, which took effect on August 30, 2024, outlines the criteria for awarding this title.
The title will be granted to entrepreneurs who have made notable contributions by implementing innovations, creating modern production facilities, increasing export potential, attracting foreign and local investments, and generating new jobs. Additionally, it will be awarded for active collaboration with state bodies and participation in social projects.
The bill was passed at the plenary session of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis on August 27. Lawmakers emphasized that the purpose of this title is to acknowledge the contributions of entrepreneurs to the nation's prosperity and to encourage youth to engage in entrepreneurship.
