French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer will participate in a discussion on Ukraine's future in Washington. This decision came after the emergency meetings of EU leaders concerned about the rapprochement between Moscow and Washington.

Europe has secured participation in negotiations on Ukraine
Following a series of urgent summits organized by Emmanuel Macron in Paris, Europe finally secured a place at the negotiating table for Ukraine. US National Security Advisor Mike Waltz announced that Donald Trump invited the French leader and British Prime Minister to the White House next week.

The EU's growing concern stemmed from the recent meeting of US and Russian representatives in Saudi Arabia. Kyiv was not invited to it, which provoked criticism from Ukraine's European allies. Concerns escalated after Trump called Vladimir Zelenskyy a "dictator" and warned that Ukraine could lose its statehood if it doesn't expedite the peace process.

However, there is no consensus in Europe on further actions. The EU continues to pressure Moscow - the 16th package of sanctions against Russia was approved this week.

In his statement, Macron emphasized that the European Union will make important decisions in defense and security in the coming weeks.
