France Lifts All Travel Restrictions on Pavel Durov
World
French authorities have fully lifted all travel restrictions previously imposed on Telegram founder Pavel Durov, more than a year after his detention at Le Bourget Airport and the launch of an investigation linked to alleged crimes committed via the platform.
According to Bloomberg, France lifted all restrictions on Durov’s ability to leave the country under a decision issued on November 10. The measures of supervision, including mandatory check-ins at a police station, have also been revoked. The Paris prosecutor’s office declined to comment, and Durov did not make a public statement.
The restrictions were linked to an investigation into Durov’s possible involvement in offenses committed using Telegram. He was detained on August 25, 2024, at Le Bourget Airport upon arrival of his private jet. At the time, he was released on €5 million bail and placed under judicial supervision, including a ban on leaving France.
In 2025, authorities allowed him temporary travel to Dubai. Bloomberg reports that all remaining restrictions have now been fully lifted.
