It is not yet known who will replace Elisabeth Borne, who resigned as head of government.
On Monday, French Prime Minister Elizabeth Borne resigned. Many in France see it as the start of a rebuilding of President Macron's team after a series of political setbacks and ahead of May's European Parliament elections, which Marine Le Pen's nationalist party could win.
Elisabeth Born will remain at the head of the government until a new Prime Minister is appointed. It is known from an unofficial communication from the Macron administration that the name of the new Prime Minister will be announced soon.
The presumed candidates for the role of head of government are 34-year-old Minister of Education Gabriel Attal, 37-year-old Minister of Armed Forces Sebastien Lecornu, Minister of Agriculture Julien Denormandy, Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire and Interior Minister Gerald Darmanen.
