Head of Uzbekistan visits Iranian embassy in Tashkent

On May 21, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran and expressed deep condolences to the friendly Iranian people regarding the tragic death of President Ebrahim Raisi and his accompanying delegation in a helicopter crash in the north of the country, according to the press service of the President of Uzbekistan.
The President of Uzbekistan left a message of sincere sympathy and support in the Book of Condolences opened at the diplomatic mission.
During a brief conversation with Ambassador Mohammadali Iskandari, the leader of Uzbekistan particularly noted that President Ebrahim Raisi was an outstanding statesman and politician who made a significant contribution to the sustainable socio-economic development, the well-being of the population, and the strengthening of Iran's international prestige, as well as the expansion of mutually beneficial multifaceted cooperation between two countries.
Earlier, the President of Uzbekistan sent a message of condolences to Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
