President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a decree establishing additional days off for the New Year and 2026 holidays, including the transfer of certain public holidays.

According to the decree, the additional days off will be:

In 2025:

Wednesday, December 31 — for all employees, regardless of work schedule.

In 2026:

For all employees: Friday, January 2; Thursday, May 28; Friday, May 29; Monday, August 31;

For employees on a six-day workweek: Saturday, January 3; Saturday, May 30; Thursday, December 31.

Due to holiday dates coinciding with weekends, for employees on a five-day workweek, the following transfers are scheduled:

March 8 (Women’s Day) from Sunday to Monday, March 9;

March 21 (Navruz) from Saturday to Monday, March 23;

May 9 (Day of Remembrance and Honor) from Saturday to Monday, May 11.

If work on holidays is required due to production or organizational conditions (continuous production, daily services, shift work, etc.), the day off will not be transferred.

Additionally, in 2026, for five-day workweek employees, the day off on Saturday, December 12 will be moved to Thursday, December 31.

This allows the population of Uzbekistan to plan New Year and holiday days in advance.
