In Italy, the exhibition "Uzbekistan: Avant-Garde in the Desert" has launched
Speakers at the press conference included Dr. Elena Marconi from the Uffizi Gallery, project leader Babur Saemov, and exhibition curators Silvia Burini and Giuseppe Barbieri from the Centre for the Study of Russian Art at Ca' Foscari University (CSAR). More than 20 representatives of the international and Uzbek press were present.

"The exhibition focuses the audience's attention on the artistic image of Central Asia in the works of Russian Orientalists and representatives of the national school of painting in Uzbekistan in the first half of the 20th century. I am confident that visitors will appreciate not only the visual shift in artistic paradigms but also the interesting dialogue between modernism and Central Asian folk art," wrote Saida Mirziyoyeva, the First Assistant to the President of Uzbekistan, in her Telegram channel.

It is worth noting that the Florentine part of the exhibition "Light and Colour" will be open to visitors from April 16 to June 30, 2024.
