In Sergeli, a 24/7 Gastronomic Street Will Be Built
Uzbekistan
A new gastronomic street is planned to be built in the Sergeli district of Tashkent. The project, which aims to create a comfortable environment for residents and visitors, will also preserve the area's green spaces.
On August 21, the Sergeli district hosted a presentation of the project, where the district hokim Elbek Shukurov personally introduced the details to businessmen and guests. The new gastronomic street will stretch 1,200 meters from the district hokimiyat building to the "Faiz" factory, intersecting Sogdiana and Jaloyir streets in an "L" shape, specifically designed for the area.
The project prioritizes pedestrian-friendly features. Elevated crosswalks, tactile paving to reduce vehicle speeds, and lowered curbs are planned to ensure accessibility. Additionally, Sogdiana Street will have one-way traffic with two-way bike lanes, and parking spaces will be arranged in designated areas for the convenience of residents and visitors.
The creation of this gastronomic street will bring modernity and appeal to the Sergeli district. The project is expected to boost the area's tourism potential while creating new job opportunities for the local population.
