In the next 5 years, the price of electricity tan is planned to decline
Uzbekistan
On January 28, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting to discuss strategic measures for energy sector development through 2035. In the coming years, Uzbekistan plans to expand capacity, increase the share of renewable energy, and attract billions in investments to ensure sustainable economic growth.
Over the past eight years, electricity production has increased by 38%, with the private sector now accounting for 24% of generation. By 2030, energy consumption is expected to rise 1.7 times, necessitating major transformations in the sector. New power plants will be built, networks will be modernized, and digital management systems will be introduced.
A key priority is reducing energy costs and expanding green technologies, with renewable energy expected to exceed 50% of total generation by 2030. Projects worth $26 billion have already been launched with foreign investors. The president has instructed officials to develop a long-term plan to ensure a stable energy supply and economic growth.
