Industrial production in Uzbekistan continues to show steady growth

Enterprises in Uzbekistan increased industrial production by an impressive amount of 166.4 trillion sums in the first quarter of 2024. This result indicates a significant increase in industrial output by 106.5% compared to the same period last year. This was reported by the press service of the Statistics Agency of Uzbekistan.

Industrial production in Uzbekistan continues to show steady growth
The main factor driving the growth of industrial production is the increase in production at enterprises in the manufacturing sector by 7.1% compared to the same period last year, in the sphere of water supply, sewage, collection, and waste disposal by 5.8%, in the mining and open-pit mining industry by 4.9%, as well as in the gas, steam, supply, and conditioning industry, where the physical volume index increased by 2.9%.

At the same time, the manufacturing industry increased the production of rubber and plastic products (physical volume index 106.0% compared to January-March 2023), as well as textile products (physical volume index 104.3% compared to January-March 2023).

Compared to the same period last year, there was a decrease in the production of computer, electronic and optical products (physical volume index was 83.8% compared to January-March 2023), as well as food production (81.2% compared to January-March 2023).
