Islamic Civilization Unites the World as Historic Forum Opens in Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan has launched the First International Forum of Islamic Civilization, titled “The Path of Peace, Tolerance and Enlightenment,” bringing together around 300 international guests from more than 40 countries.
Participants include government and public figures, ministers, muftis, prominent theologians, academics, Islamic studies scholars, scientists and researchers. Heads of museums and libraries, representatives of international organisations and members of the media are also attending the forum.
The event is designed to serve as an international platform for dialogue on the rich scientific, spiritual and cultural heritage of Islamic civilization, as well as the promotion of peace, tolerance and enlightenment.
The forum is organised by the Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan in cooperation with the Committee on Religious Affairs, the international research centres named after Imam Maturidi, Imam Bukhari and Imam Tirmidhi, the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan, the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan and ICESCO.
The forum brings together leading experts and representatives from different countries to discuss the preservation of historical heritage, the development of scientific cooperation and the strengthening of intercultural dialogue.
