Janos Boka: Hungary will not give in to EU blackmail on Ukraine
Political
Hungary firmly rejects the possibility of blackmail by the EU on the issue of providing aid to Ukraine. This was stated by János Boka, Hungary's EU affairs minister, in response to a Financial Times article which referred to the EU's intentions to put pressure on Budapest.
Boka emphasised that Hungary will not give in to blackmail and expressed his belief that the published information only confirms the Hungarian government's long-term statements that Brussels uses access to EU funds for political pressure.
The minister emphasised that Hungary does not link its support for Ukraine to access to EU funds and does not allow other countries to use this issue as an instrument of pressure. He stressed Hungary's readiness to take part in constructive negotiations and to continue supporting dialogue.
