Japan Airlines announced that it had been targeted by a cyberattack, which might affect flight operations.
“We can confirm that we have been subjected to a cyberattack and are currently addressing the situation,” a JAL representative told AFP. “There is a possibility of delays and cancellations,” the JAL spokesperson added.
According to the representative, detailed information cannot yet be provided.
Kyodo News reported that system disruptions have already caused delays for nine domestic and several international flights. JAL also plans to temporarily suspend ticket sales.

It is worth noting that yesterday morning, December 25, an Azerbaijan Airlines passenger plane, an Embraer E190AR, crashed in Kazakhstan.
