Former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov was forced to leave a plane on the way to the UFC 311 event in Los Angeles, where he was set to help his fighters. This was reported by American Airlines.
The incident took place before an American Airlines flight. Khabib was sitting near an emergency exit when the flight attendant asked him if he could assist in case of an emergency. However, the athlete did not understand her question, leading to a brief argument. The flight attendant then demanded that Khabib move to another seat, which caused the former champion to express his displeasure. According to Khabib, this was not just an inconvenience but an injustice. He said:
"This is injustice. When I was checking in, they asked me if I spoke English, and I answered 'yes.' Why are you doing this now?"
Due to the flight attendant's rude behavior and the calling of security, Khabib and his teammates were forced to leave the plane. Nurmagomedov mentioned that he tried to remain calm and avoid provoking the situation.
Later, the Dagestani athlete provided more details about the situation:
"The woman who approached me with questions was rude from the start. Despite speaking good English, she told me I had to get up from my seat. What's the reason for this treatment? Is it because of my race, nationality, or something else? I don't know. After a brief conversation, she called security and they kicked me off the plane. In that situation, I tried to stay calm and not fall into provocation. I believe that if they had been more sincere, this problem wouldn't have happened," said Khabib Nurmagomedov.
