Uzbekistan
The presidents of Central Asian countries and Azerbaijan, who arrived in our country to participate in the Seventh Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of the region, along with the President of Uzbekistan, visited the Center for Islamic Civilization in Tashkent.
Created at the initiative of the head of state, the center became the first complex in our history to bring together unique artifacts, research, and educational facilities dedicated to preserving and promoting the priceless heritage of Islamic civilization.
This majestic complex was built in a harmonious blend of national architectural traditions and modern decorative designs. Portals 34 meters high rise on four sides, and a 65-meter dome dominates the central section.
Presidents Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan, Sadyr Japarov of Kyrgyzstan, and Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan, accompanied by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, visited the Hall of the Holy Quran, which houses one of the greatest spiritual relics of the Islamic world – the Mushaf of Usman. This unique copy, considered one of the most ancient manuscripts of the Quran, is of exceptional historical and cultural significance and bears witness to the profound spiritual traditions that shaped the civilizational identity of the peoples of our region.
The presidents also reviewed the sections "Pre-Islamic Civilizations," "The First Renaissance," "The Second Renaissance," and "New Uzbekistan – New Renaissance."
They showcase the rich scientific and spiritual legacy of our great ancestors – Imam Bukhari, Imam Termizi, Abu Mansur Maturidi, Bahauddin Naqshbandi, and other outstanding thinkers. The exhibits also include manuscripts dating back to the Samanid, Karakhanid, Khorezmshah, Timurid, and other dynasties, along with their translations into the Old Uzbek language.
The leaders emphasized the importance of strengthening cultural and civilizational ties between the countries of the region, promoting educational projects, and fostering shared humanitarian values.
They commended Uzbekistan's extensive efforts to preserve and promote this rich shared heritage. They expressed confidence that the Center will serve as a modern research hub, opening new horizons for scientific, educational, and cultural cooperation among the countries of the region.
