Major Personnel Shift in the Economic Sector
Uzbekistan
Uzbekistan’s president has introduced a notable reshuffle within the economic administration: Sherzod Kudbiyev has been relieved of his duties as Chairman of the Tax Committee and appointed to lead the newly created National Committee for Sustainable Urbanization and Housing Market Development. The committee, established on November 20, is expected to become a key body for coordinating urban policy and reforms in the housing sector.
The Tax Committee will now be headed by Farrukh Pulatov, who previously served as Director of the Cadastre Agency under the Ministry of Economy and Finance since March 2022. Pulatov has extensive experience in financial oversight and law enforcement, having worked in the prosecutor's offices of Fergana and Namangan regions, led the regional office of the Department for Combating Tax and Economic Crimes, and headed the state company “Uzdonmahsulot” for several years.
Sherzod Kudbiyev had led the Tax Committee since August 2023. His previous roles include Minister of Economy and Finance, Chairman of the State Tax Committee, presidential adviser, Minister of Employment and Labor Relations, and mayor of the Mirzo-Ulugbek district of Tashkent.
