The Government of Malaysia from 1 January 2024 will introduce digital arrival cards for foreign citizens visiting the country, including citizens of Uzbekistan. This is reported by the news agency Dunyo.
As a rule, the online card should be filled out within 3 days before entering the country on the website Malaysia Digital Arrival Card - MDAC . A printed copy will have to be presented at the passport control upon arrival.
As noted, on this card travellers will need to indicate their personal data, including full name, citizenship, passport series, dates of arrival and departure from the country, phone numbers, address of temporary residence in Malaysia and other data.
Currently, Uzbek citizens have a visa-free regime of up to 30 days to enter Malaysia. According to the migration legislation of Malaysia, citizens coming from Uzbekistan must provide the following documents:
a passport with validity of at least 6 months at the time of entry into the country;
return air ticket to Uzbekistan or a third country within 30 days from the date of entry.
Moreover, when passing passport control, citizens may be required to provide a document on hotel (hostel) booking and confirmation of sufficient funds necessary for accommodation during their stay in the country.
"If necessary, representatives of the Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Malaysia at border checkpoints (Kuala Lumpur International Airport and others) have the right to refuse entry into the country to a foreign citizen," the report says.
