"We are pleased to announce that we have received permission from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to start our first clinical trial on humans," the company's tweet published on May 25 says.

Registration for a clinical trial has not yet been opened.

The Neuralink startup was created by Musk in July 2016 with the aim of combining the efforts of leading specialists in the development of neural interfaces and creating robots that allow you to place an almost unlimited number of electrodes in the brain in a fully automatic mode. According to the entrepreneur, in the long term, such neural interfaces will allow a person to become a cyborg capable of resisting artificial intelligence, as well as help people learn how to control the computer directly using the power of thought.
