Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has officially nominated US President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize. He made this statement during a celebratory dinner at the White House, handing Trump a copy of a letter sent to the Nobel Committee.

"He is strengthening peace while we are talking, one country after another," Netanyahu emphasized, explaining his initiative.

Against the backdrop of the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip for 22 months, Trump noted progress in negotiations between Israel and Hamas. According to him, "the truce is progressing very well," and both sides allegedly "want to cease fire."

However, despite talks of peace, Netanyahu has indicated that Israel does not intend to give up control of Gaza. "People will say that this is not a full-fledged state. We don't care," he said, emphasizing his country's harsh stance.
