New Cooperation Agreements: Visit of "Uzbekiston Temir Yullari" JSC Leadership to China

On December 14–15, 2024, the First Deputy Chairman of the Board of "Uzbekiston Temir Yullari" JSC, X. Rakhmetov, visited the People's Republic of China, where he held a series of strategically significant negotiations in the railway sector.
X. Rakhmetov met for the first time with Go Xian, the head of the "China Railway Urumqi Bureau Group," in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. During the talks, discussions focused on increasing freight turnover between Uzbekistan and China and developing a multimodal transport system.
Additionally, Rakhmetov held discussions with Wang Guochao, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the "Lianyungang Port Group Co., Ltd." in Lianyungang City. The negotiations outlined new directions for cooperation in forming container block trains, enhancing freight turnover, and improving the logistics system.
Outcomes of the negotiations:
The parties agreed to hold regular meetings to accelerate the movement of container trains and wagons within their territories.
A cooperation agreement was signed between the "China Railway Urumqi Bureau Group" and the "Lianyungang Port Group Co., Ltd." to increase freight volumes.
These agreements lay a solid foundation for significantly boosting freight turnover between the two countries and further developing trade relations. Regular meetings will help optimize the logistics system, strengthening Uzbekistan's role as a key link in international transport corridors.
