Orban says signs of Europe's preparation for war with Russia
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban told Kossuth radio that he sees "disturbing similarities" between media publications and statements by Western politicians before World Wars I and II and what they are writing and saying now, during the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

"What is happening today in Brussels and Washington, perhaps now more so in Brussels than in Washington, is a kind of mood-setting for a possible direct military conflict, we can safely call it a preparation of Europe for going to war," Orban said.

"How many more guns are we going to send? How much more money are we going to send?" he asked, referring to EU aid to Ukraine. According to the Hungarian prime minister, Brussels' actions will gradually lead to a clash between the EU and NATO and Russia. Orban called the military action in Ukraine "a conflict between two Slavic nations."

The Hungarian prime minister has repeatedly criticised the EU for helping Ukraine and said that Brussels' policy is not in the interests of Europeans. The Russian authorities oppose the supply of weapons and military equipment to Ukraine, saying that this only prolongs the conflict. As for the possible appearance of Western troops on Ukrainian territory, the Kremlin warned that this would lead to an inevitable conflict between NATO and Russia.
