President of Uzbekistan outlines priorities for Bukhara's development

At a meeting held on June 1st, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev identified priority tasks for fully utilizing the opportunities for the socio-economic development of the Bukhara region, according to the state leader's press service.
Several initiatives were put forward at the meeting. Here are some of them:
— This year, an additional 2.1 trillion soums in loans will be provided to small businesses in Bukhara, in addition to the already allocated 5.9 trillion soums.
— An additional $100 million will be allocated for small businesses, tourism, and services, aiming to provide employment for 78,000 people by the end of the year.
— Three major projects totaling $50 million in the field of electrical engineering will be introduced in Bukhara and Karaulbazar this year.
— A factory for the production of reinforced concrete products will be constructed.
— A jewellery centre will be established in the historic part of Bukhara.
— Necessary conditions will be created in Bukhara to attract 5 million foreign tourists annually. Construction has begun on the "Eternal Bukhara" cultural-ethnographic park and a new airport in the city centre.
— Instructions were given for the restoration of 30 historical monuments in the region, the creation of a recreation area on the banks of the Zarafshan River, and the expansion of recreational facilities at Lake Tudakul.
— Markets will be established for the Bukhara region in Nizhny Novgorod and Penza (Russia).
— Entrepreneurs from Gijduvan proposed to train students of grades 10-11 and college students in professions after school hours, providing a salary of up to 2 million soums per month along with free meals and transportation. The President approved this proposal, emphasizing the need to turn it into a valuable experience.
