The head of Uzbekistan warmly welcomed the participants of the forum and noted that reliable partners from all continents of the world are gathering in Uzbekistan within this format, which is becoming a good tradition every year. This was reported by Sherzod Asadov, press secretary of the head of state.
The President noted that today's conference coincides with a period of escalating global geopolitical and economic problems, where risks and threats to sustainable development are increasing.
"Of course, we understand that there is an unprecedented struggle for investors worldwide today. However, one immutable fact is becoming increasingly clear: no country can solve such acute problems alone. The spirit of mutual trust and respect, the principle of mutual support, will remain a strong pillar of long-term cooperation," said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
It was noted that decisive steps have been taken to fundamentally improve the investment and business environment in Uzbekistan and to gradually eliminate obstacles on this path. In particular, more than $60 billion of foreign investments have been absorbed in Uzbekistan in recent years. Additionally, more than $14 billion of funds from international financial institutions were attracted to the social and infrastructure sectors.
