President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting on 23 February on youth employment in Uzbekistan. As part of the State Programme for the implementation of the "Uzbekistan - 2030" Strategy in the Year of Support for Youth and Business, key tasks on this issue were identified.

As it is noted, this year it is planned to provide 925 thousand young men and women with jobs. In addition, 300 thousand young people will graduate from colleges, technical schools and higher education institutions.

The meeting discussed issues of employment, training young people in modern professions and attracting them to entrepreneurship. Additional opportunities will be created for youth business by allocating at least 40% of the credits of the family entrepreneurship programme. It is planned to ensure the employment of young people in new industrial projects, services, through legalisation of jobs and self-employment.

Moreover, this year it is planned to provide employment for 70 thousand young people in the field of information technologies. The project "Two programmers from each mahalla" and other initiatives are aimed at developing the IT sphere among young people.

Through various programmes and projects, including "Ibrat Farzandlari" and "Ustoz", it is planned to train young people in modern professions, support young entrepreneurs and provide opportunities for foreign language training. Agriculture and farming are also important areas, where additional land plots will be allocated for young people.

All these initiatives are aimed at creating a favourable environment for the development of young people and ensuring their successful employment in various sectors of Uzbekistan's economy.
