President’s Signature on Dollars: US Plans Unusual Issue
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced plans to include President Donald Trump’s signature on new $100 bills to be released for the 250th anniversary of the United States.

Traditionally, US banknotes carry the signatures of the Treasury Secretary and the Treasurer, but the commemorative issue will also feature the signature of the sitting president.

According to Bessent, the move is intended as a symbolic way to mark the historic milestone and highlight the nation’s achievements.

The first banknotes bearing the signatures of Trump and Bessent are expected to be printed in June.

Current bills in circulation feature the signatures of Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and Treasurer Lynn Malerba from the administration of former President Joe Biden.

The new issue could become a unique precedent in the history of US currency.
