A law has been adopted in Uzbekistan—Law No. O‘RQ-1033—“On Amendments and Additions to the Criminal Code, the Criminal Procedure Code, and the Code of Administrative Responsibility of the Republic of Uzbekistan” to improve the road safety system.

Punishment Introduced for Distributing Photos or Videos of Law Enforcement Officers
According to the amendments to the Criminal Code, criminal liability has been established for:

The illegal manufacture, transfer, or use of state registration plates or identification numbers of motor vehicles and their trailers (semi-trailers), as well as their forgery;

Violating the procedure for training and retraining drivers of motor vehicles, urban electric transport, tractor operators, as well as the procedure for conducting exams and issuing driver’s licenses;

Driving a vehicle while intoxicated or refusing to undergo a sobriety test;

Driving a vehicle while being deprived of the right to drive.

According to the amendments to the Code of Administrative Responsibility, administrative liability has been established for:

Exceeding the permitted number of penalty points for traffic violations.

In this case, in addition to the main penalty for the offense, the driver will also receive penalty points. The maximum number of penalty points for a single offense must not exceed 2 points.

Penalty points are recorded for one year from the date of the first offense and are automatically removed after one year.

If a driver accumulates more than 12 penalty points in a year, they will be deprived of the right to drive for at least six months.

Administrative liability has also been established for:

Violating safety regulations when using vehicles operating on compressed natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas, diesel fuel, or gas mixtures;

Violating passenger transport regulations;

Violating overtaking rules;

Road hooliganism;

Distributing photos or videos of law enforcement officers in a distorted manner that could lead to their discreditation.
