Putin presents Kim Jong-un with Aurus limousine

Russian President Vladimir Putin has given a limousine to North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in what could be seen as a violation of UN sanctions against the country over its nuclear program. Moscow itself once voted to impose those sanctions.
Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that it was about the Aurus limousine. Luxury cars are included in the list of goods banned for export to North Korea.
A resolution adopted in 2016 requires the prevention of the supply of such goods to the DPRK by all member states. Peskov did not comment on the sanctions violation. South Korea called the gift a violation of sanctions.
The representative of the Korean Unification Ministry emphasized that Russia, as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, should be aware of its responsibility and refrain from actions that could violate international norms.
