Uzbekistan and World Economic Forum Discuss Expanding Cooperation

On September 14, Gayane Umerova, Chairperson of Uzbekistan’s Art and Culture Development Foundation, met with representatives of the World Economic Forum — Dietrich John, Head of Europe and Eurasia, and Marven Garbaa, Head of Partnerships for Europe and Eurasia. The sides discussed prospects for long-term cooperation and opportunities to expand Uzbekistan’s participation in the Forum’s initiatives and communities.

Particular attention was given to the development of the creative economy, culture and tourism. Together with human capital development, these areas were identified as important fields for further cooperation between Uzbekistan and the World Economic Forum.

The meeting also addressed the prospects of Uzbekistan participating in the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting in Davos in January 2027. The country’s potential participation was discussed in the context of further expanding engagement with the Forum.

The talks provided an opportunity to consider future formats of cooperation and ways to strengthen Uzbekistan’s participation in international initiatives of the World Economic Forum.
