Revolutionary AI Glasses
Technology
Mark Zuckerberg, the head of Meta, has unveiled glasses with augmented reality features and a voice chatbot. He referred to the Orion glasses as a "Time Machine" that opens the door to an innovative future. The glasses can project digital images, games, and communication into the real world, marking the company's next step in creating smart glasses that could replace computers and smartphones.
"These glasses exist, they are incredible, and this is a glimpse into a future that will be truly exciting," said Zuckerberg.
The Orion glasses, made from a magnesium alloy and equipped with Meta's unique silicon, can be used for video calls, where the conversation partner "appears" as a digital image, creating a highly realistic effect. The device can also recognize food ingredients, such as chia seeds, and suggest suitable recipes, displaying them digitally over real objects. Control of the glasses is managed through voice commands, hand gesture tracking, and a wrist interface.
Meta aims to refine the design and reduce the cost of the device before its planned market release in 2027. At this stage, it will be available exclusively to developers.
