Rishi Sunak resigns as Labor celebrates victory
Rishi Sunak congratulated Labor Party leader Keir Starmer on his landslide election victory. According to the interim results, the Labor Party has overcome the required threshold for a parliamentary majority, securing a leading position in the new parliament.

“I will now travel to London where I will provide more details about today’s result before I step down as Prime Minister, to whom I have given my all,” Rishi Sunak said. With ballots counted in 573 of 650 constituencies, Labor won 385 parliamentary seats out of 560. The Conservatives came second with 95 seats, and the Liberal Democrats won 56 seats.

These elections also brought changes in the composition of parliament. The head of the British Ministry of Defense Grant Shapps lost his seat, losing to Andrew Lewin from the Labor Party, who gained almost 20 thousand votes. Labour's victory marked a significant turn in British politics, highlighting a shift in public mood and demands for new approaches to governing the country.
