Russian air carriers Pobeda, Aeroflot, S7 Airlines and Utair will increase the number of flights from Russian cities to Samarkand in the spring-summer period, TASS reported citing the Samarkand airport administration.

"Samarkand International Airport has switched to the spring-summer flight schedule. Partner airlines will continue to open new flights and increase the frequency of flights on the most popular routes," the statement said.

It is reported that Pobeda will increase the number of flights to Samarkand from Moscow from nine to 10 per week, and Aeroflot and Utair - from eight to nine and five times a week, respectively.

In particular, S7 aircraft will fly weekly to Samarkand from Novosibirsk and St Petersburg two and three times respectively. Ural Airlines will operate flights four times a week between Moscow and Samarkand. Earlier it was reported that regular flights to Mineralnye Vody, Ufa and Samara were launched from Samarkand.
