Saudi Arabia Executes 6 Iranian Citizens

Saudi Arabia has executed six Iranian citizens for attempting to smuggle drugs.
The Ministry of Interior of Saudi Arabia reported the execution of death sentences against six Iranian citizens who attempted to illegally bring drugs into the country.
"Iranian citizens Kasem Muhammad Shabani, Abdurreza Yunus Tenkasiri, Khalil Shahid Samri, Muhammad Javad Abduljalil, Mehdi Kenan Ghanimi, and Khor Muhammad Shabani attempted to illegally import drugs into the kingdom," said the official statement from the Ministry of Interior, quoted by the Saudi SPA agency.
The statement further clarified that the accused were arrested, found guilty by the court, and sentenced to death. The death sentences were carried out upon the orders of Saudi authorities.
According to Iran's state agency IRNA, the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Saudi Arabian Ambassador in Tehran, Abdullah bin Saud al-Anzi, to express their protest with "strong words" regarding the executions of Iranian citizens.
