This week marks a major moment in Uzbekistan’s international diplomacy. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev is set to hold key meetings with global partners, attend the historic UNESCO General Conference in Samarkand, and host the Presidents of Serbia and Finland for official visits.

Serbian and Finnish Presidents to Visit Uzbekistan This Week
According to Presidential Press Secretary Sherzod Asadov, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s agenda for this week includes a series of significant events in the economic, diplomatic, and cultural spheres.

Today, the President will chair an extended meeting to review the expected economic results for 2025 and discuss key macroeconomic indicators for 2026.

Later in the day, he will receive Sergio Gor, the U.S. President’s Special Envoy for South and Central Asia, along with Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau.

A key event of the week will be the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference, taking place for the first time outside Paris — in Samarkand. President Mirziyoyev will deliver an address outlining new initiatives to strengthen international cooperation in culture, science, and education, and will also hold a series of bilateral meetings.

In addition, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and Finnish President Alexander Stubb will arrive in Uzbekistan on official visits. During the summits, the sides will discuss the expansion of bilateral cooperation, joint investment projects, and partnerships in education and innovation.
