“Shajara”: Uzbekistan to provide online access to ancestral records
Uzbekistan is developing a new information platform called “Shajara,” which will allow citizens to compile their family genealogy. The system is scheduled to begin operation on September 1, 2026.

Through the platform, users will be able to access information based on civil registry archives and other historical documents. The service will also offer ethnic origin identification through DNA analysis conducted by the Republican Center of Forensic Expertise.

Data will be available for the following historical periods:
— from the 9th century to 1917,
— from 1918 to 1945,
— from 1946 to the present day.

The initiative aims to expand public access to genealogical information and systematize historical records.
