Talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin are scheduled as part of the visit programme.
Prime Minister of Tatarstan Alexei Pesoshin and other high-ranking officials met the President of Uzbekistan at the Gabdulla Tukai airport.
As part of the programme of the visit, the President of Uzbekistan plans to hold talks with President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. After that, the leaders will take part in the opening ceremony of the first "The Future Games", an international multi-sport tournament to be held in Kazan from 21 February to 3 March.
