Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Namangan region

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Namangan region on 25 March. This was reported by the press service of the President of Uzbekistan.
The head of Uzbekistan first visited Gavkhar Group enterprise in Yangi-Namangan district. It is capable of producing 1,200 kilograms of jewellery per year.
Today the company has mastered the production of 10 thousand varieties of jewellery. In co-operation with foreign partners, production of high-quality gold watch cases has been established. In 2023, 270 kilograms of products were produced.
In addition, the production of custom-made products of any shape using 3D modelling has been set up here.
The purchase of gold at the commodity exchange with deferred payment is an important support in ensuring the sufficiency of working capital and continuity of production.
Another important aspect is that the company has established cooperation with local jewellers. As a result, those who previously worked unofficially came out of the "shadow" and the number of jobs increased. More than 100 people are employed at the enterprise. Young people are also trained in the craft here.
"In our country, 100 tonnes of gold is mined annually. It is allowed to sell gold to entrepreneurs in instalments. In fact, there is no such possibility in other countries. However, we process only 6 per cent of gold. Countries that do not mine gold export more jewellery than we do. We are a bit behind in this area. That is why we are creating additional conditions for production. And this is just the beginning. We will continue to develop this industry," Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
