Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated the Uzbek people on the Day of Remembrance and Honour

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated the people of Uzbekistan on the Day of Remembrance and Honors and the 79th anniversary of the Great Victory in the Second World War. This was reported by the press service of the Uzbekistan leader.
"Sincerely, from the bottom of my heart, I congratulate our veterans, the entire multinational people of Uzbekistan, on the glorious holiday of May 9th - the Day of Remembrance and Honors and the 79th anniversary of the Great Victory in the Second World War. I express to all of you deep respect and the kindest wishes," the congratulation reads.
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted the significant contribution of Uzbek warriors to the Victory, emphasizing that during those difficult years, more than 1,950,000 Uzbek warriors were mobilized to the front. Of them, over 538,000 perished, more than 158,000 went missing, over 870,000 were wounded, and over 60,000 returned from the front as disabled.
"Once again, from the bottom of my heart, I congratulate you on today's great holiday. I wish you all health, happiness, and prosperity. May there always be peace in our country, may our people be happy!" - concluded Shavkat Mirziyoyev in his congratulatory message.
It is worth noting that today Russian President Vladimir Putin also sent congratulatory messages to the leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Abkhazia, South Ossetia, as well as to the peoples of Georgia and Moldova.
