Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development
Uzbekistan
On April 3, Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with Odile Reno-Basso, the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), within the framework of the "Central Asia - European Union" summit business program.
The discussion focused on Uzbekistan's expanding partnership with EBRD, particularly the achievements in the private sector and economic development. The bank's total investment in Uzbekistan has surpassed 5 billion euros, with 1 billion euros invested in the previous year. Most of the financial assistance is directed toward the private sector.
Additionally, there were talks about supporting youth and women entrepreneurship, public-private partnerships, and the implementation of more projects in areas such as education and water supply. New economic programs, including those focusing on the "green" economy and digitization, were given particular attention.
Preparation for the upcoming international investment forum to be held in Tashkent in June was also discussed.
