Shavkat Mirziyoyev orders reduction of metro interval to two minutes

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev saw a presentation on measures to improve the quality of service in the Tashkent metro November 21. This was reported by the President's press service.
At the meeting, senior officials from the transport and construction spheres presented information on the current state of the metro and plans for the future.
The President instructed to improve the quality of metro services, convenience of travelling and safety. He also emphasised the need to renew the car fleet and replace cars that have reached the end of their service life, as well as to ensure a two-minute interval.
Besides, during the presentation proposals on transformation of Tashkent Metro and increasing its income were considered.
For information: 32 kilometres of additional lines have been built in recent years to expand the metro network, 21 new stations have been put into operation. 15 modern metro trains have been brought in. New routes ran through Yashnabad, Mirabad, Sergeli, Yangikhayot and Yunusabad districts of the capital, which made it easier for residents to travel. Today, the number of metro passengers has grown 5 times and the number of daily journeys has reached 720 thousand.
