It is known that 20% of the territory of Namangan region is occupied by mountains, which opens up prospects for the development of mountain tourism. To this end, it is planned to implement projects in Pap, Chust, Yangikurgan, Kasansai and Chartak based on the experience of Shakhrisabz.

To stimulate domestic tourism, it is planned to open railway flights connecting Namangan with Bukhara and Samarkand, as well as a daily express-passenger train service Namangan-Pap-Chadak.

Insufficient utilisation of the region's export opportunities was noted. Shavkat Mirziyoyev stressed the importance of negotiations on opening trade houses in neighbouring countries.

To improve the efficiency of the agricultural sector, it is envisaged to attach quarantine inspectors to the transferred farmers, organise the production of export products, develop an agrochemical map and adapt land to GSP+ requirements.

At the meeting, the President noted that the construction of the New Namangan city for 200,000 residents on an area of 1,203 hectares continues. At the current stage, construction of residential complexes, an IT park, a hotel, a business centre and a park will begin.
