Sherali Juraev dies at the age of 77

People's Artist of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan Sherali Juraev naturally had a sonorous voice. The songs performed by him are distinguished by their nationality, the richness of observational and philosophical content, and their unique charm.
An outstanding figure of the National Singing Art of Uzbekistan, Honored Artist, People's Artist of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan Sherali Juraev died on September 4 at the age of 77.
Sherali Juraev was born on April 12, 1947 in the city of Asaka, Andijan region. In 1971 he graduated from the Tashkent Institute of Theatrical and Artistic Arts (now the Uzbek State Institute of Arts and Culture) and began his career as a singer of the Shodlik Song and Dance Ensemble. For many years he worked in such creative organizations as the Andijan Regional Philharmonic Society, the State Philharmonic Society of Uzbekistan, and the state institution “Uzbekconcert”.
With his unique talent, unique voice and high performing skills, Sherali Juraev created hundreds of bright songs and won a well-deserved reputation among his people. He made an invaluable contribution to the enrichment of the “golden fund” of the Uzbek singing art, putting many poetic samples of classical and modern literature on the melody.
With his many years of fruitful work, Sherali Juraev also showed dedication in the development of modern national art and culture, the wide dissemination of its fame abroad.
In subsequent years, he worked fruitfully as chairman of the board of trustees of the public fund “Vatandoslar”, worthily serving to strengthen ties with compatriots living in foreign countries.
A skilled artist created his own creative school in Uzbek national singing, brought up many young talents. He was awarded the honorary titles "Honored Artist of Uzbekistan", "People's Artist of Uzbekistan", the State Prize of the Republic of Uzbekistan named after Alisher Navoi, the orders "Fidokorona Khizmatlari Uchun" and "El-Yurt Khurmati".
