Starting from the New Year, public transport fares in Tashkent will rise

From January 1, 2025, the fare for buses and the metro in Tashkent is expected to increase for cash payments. This was announced in the draft resolution of the Tashkent city mayor on "Promoting electronic payment systems in the Tashkent city public transport system."

"From January 1, 2025, the option of paying by cash on city public transport buses will be limited. Special self-service kiosks will be set up on buses and at bus stops for this purpose," the statement said.

Through these kiosks, passengers will be able to purchase one-time tickets using cash. Special devices for reading these tickets will be installed on the buses. Thus, payments will be made through this system.

According to the new system: The one-time fare for cash payments will be 3,000 sums, When paid through the electronic payment system, the fare will be 1,700 sums.

Another important update: starting from November 1, 2023, with UZCARD 5614***, 6262***, 5440**** (cards starting with these numbers), issued by several commercial banks, passengers will be able to pay for transportation in the same way as with transport cards (ATO), and the fare of 1,700 sums will be charged.
