As part of the Asian Women's Forum in Samarkand, the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva held a meeting with the Chairman of the Milli Mejlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sahiba Gafarova.
During the meeting, special attention was paid to mutual cooperation between parliaments to ensure the implementation of high-level bilateral agreements, including legal support for joint projects in trade, economic, transportation, communication, cultural, humanitarian, and other spheres.
Sahiba Gafarova emphasized that the Asian Women's Forum, organized for the first time at the initiative of Uzbekistan, will become an important platform for expanding economic, social, and political rights and opportunities for women, and wished success to the forum's work.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to further activate cooperation between women entrepreneurs of the two countries and to enhance the dialogue among young parliamentarians.
It is worth reminding that at the Asian Women's Forum, which is taking place in Samarkand on May 13-14, more than 30 distinguished guests are participating, including representatives from foreign countries and international organizations - women parliamentarians from the parliaments of East Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, and Central Asia, heads of governments, representatives from more than 40 foreign diplomatic missions in our country and foreign organizations, as well as local government bodies, and about 400 representatives from civil society institutions, women leaders, businesswomen, political scientists, social activists, scholars, representatives from various economic sectors, and active women.
