Uzbekistan
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev nominated senator Tanzila Norboeva for the position of Chairman of the Senate of the Supreme Assembly, and she was elected by the senators.
Senator Sodiq Safoyev was elected as the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate, and Senator Amanbay Orinbaev as the Deputy Chairman of the Senate.
The President congratulated Tanzila Norboeva, Sodiq Safoyev, and Amanbay Orinbaev for the high trust placed in them and wished them success and achievements in their future activities.
"Imagine this — from a population of 37 million, only 65 people have had the honor and happiness to become senators. This is a tremendous responsibility and trust, and it is our sacred duty to justify it with honest and loyal service.
You will contribute to the creation of the New Uzbekistan and the Third Renaissance, adopting people-oriented and just laws, and setting an example for all," he wished.
"I see in you, dear senators, people capable of achieving great things, who deeply understand the strategic tasks facing Uzbekistan and place the interests of the Motherland and people above all else — my closest allies.
I am confident that by using all your knowledge, experience, strength, and opportunities, you will open a new, bright chapter in the life of our country and in the work of the Senate," said the President at the conclusion of the session.
For reference, on October 27 of this year, as a result of the elections of the deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Supreme Assembly and local Councils of People's Deputies, Tanzila Norboeva was elected as a deputy of the Tashkent City Council of People's Deputies. This Council then elected her as a senator.
