On 15 April, a ceremonial opening of the International project "CIS Youth Capital" took place in the capital of Uzbekistan. This was reported by the National Council of Youth and Children's Associations of Russia.

During the event held at the Tashkent Palace of Youth Creativity, greetings were delivered by Alisher Sadullayev, Director of the Agency for Youth Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Shavkat Umurzakov, the governor of Tashkent.

A message from Sergei Lebedev, the Secretary-General of the Commonwealth of Independent States, was read by Tatyana Kovaleva, Head of the Department for Cooperation in Culture, Sports, Tourism, and Youth of the Department of Humanitarian Cooperation, General Political and Social Issues of the CIS Executive Committee.

"Tashkent has significant and widely applicable experience in working with youth, interesting public initiatives, and a vibrant cultural life. The city has repeatedly been the venue for large-scale international youth events, and has provided many joyful encounters and discoveries for curious tourists," stated the message.

A key moment of the event was the presentation of the "CIS Youth Capital" Certificate to the city.

It is worth noting that Uzbekistan highly values bilateral youth cooperation.
