A Government Resolution No. 27 "On measures to organize the activities of the state institution 'Radiation and Nuclear Safety Scientific and Technical Center' under the Committee for Industry, Radiation and Nuclear Safety under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan" has been adopted. According to this resolution, the following main areas of activity for the state institution "Radiation and Nuclear Safety Scientific and Technical Center" have been established:
Conducting scientific research and scientific-technical work to develop proposals (recommendations) for implementing state policy and regulation in the field of radiation and nuclear safety;
Conducting expert evaluations related to the justification of safety for nuclear energy use facilities and (or) activities in the field of nuclear energy;
Developing and improving the regulatory framework in the field of radiation and nuclear safety in the use of nuclear energy;
Participating in the development of state programs and international projects and programs in the field of radiation and nuclear safety, as well as in the technical, analytical, and experimental support of control and licensing activities;
Conducting scientifically based safety analysis, modeling, and calculation research using advanced technologies in the field of radiation and nuclear safety;
Developing, creating, forming, and storing databases in the field of radiation and nuclear safety regulation;
Implementing international cooperation within the scope of its authority.
