The official visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Malaysia concluded with the signing of important agreements and the strengthening of strategic cooperation between the countries. During the visit, key negotiations, a business forum, and meetings with leading Malaysian companies took place.
In Kuala Lumpur, the head of Uzbekistan held talks with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, following which a Joint Statement on Strategic Partnership was signed. A number of agreements have also been signed aimed at developing cooperation in the fields of economics, investment, energy, and innovation.
The leaders of the two countries took part in a business forum with the participation of more than 200 representatives of the largest companies. In addition, the President of Uzbekistan met with the management of the Petronas Corporation, discussing the prospects for joint projects in the oil and gas and "green" energy sectors.
As part of the cultural program, Mirziyoyev visited the Museum of Islamic Art of Malaysia, where he noted the contribution of Uzbek craftsmen to the creation of the exposition.
After completing the official program, the President of Uzbekistan flew to Tashkent.
