President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, as part of his visit to Paris, held a meeting with representatives of leading French companies. Investment projects, economic reforms, and new areas of cooperation were discussed.
The meeting was attended by more than 60 heads of the largest French companies, including Orano, EDF, Total, SUEZ, Veolia, Airbus, Schneider Electric, and others. The main topic was the attraction of French investments and advanced technologies to the Uzbek economy.
One of the main outcomes of the negotiations was the signing of a Program for Innovative and Industrial Cooperation until 2027 worth 6.5 billion euros. The funds will be allocated for the development of critical mineral resources, energy, infrastructure, construction, and other key sectors.
Mirziyoyev proposed the establishment of a permanent Uzbekistan-France Investment Council, which will coordinate joint projects and accelerate their implementation. The first meeting will be held in June at the Tashkent Investment Forum.
French businesses expressed interest in expanding partnerships, and the Uzbek leader instructed the government to ensure control over the implementation of all agreements reached.
