The President of Uzbekistan supported the further expansion of cooperation with ICESCO

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Salim al-Malik, Director General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), who arrived in our country to participate in the First International Forum of Islamic Civilization.
The parties discussed the further expansion of the multifaceted partnership between Uzbekistan and this prestigious institution of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
The consistent development of practical cooperation with the international organization was noted with satisfaction.
The International Islamic Academy has an ICESCO department. This year, the organization opened an office in Tashkent. Following the February meeting of the Committee on Cultural Heritage of the Islamic World, seven tangible and intangible cultural heritage sites of our country were included in the ICESCO List.
The meeting focused on the restoration, protection, and digitization of cultural monuments and manuscripts, the widespread promotion of our country's rich historical heritage through international media platforms, and the holding of joint events.
At the end of the meeting, the President of Uzbekistan awarded Salim al-Malik a high state award – the Order of Dustlik – for his personal contribution to the widespread popularization of our country's rich cultural heritage.
